WELCOME TO EP(GHG)
With pressure to meet strict regulations and standards, companies are having an ever increasing need for GHG practitioners; 80 per cent of employers surveyed by the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute state they would be more inclined to hire certified professionals than non-certified GHG practitioners.
For this reason the Greenhouse Gas Management Institute and the Environment Careers Organization of Canada (ECO Canada) have come together to offer the Environmental Professional in Greenhouse Gas – EP(GHG) – designation. This title is available to professionals who have been working for 5 or more years in the areas of GHG quantification or verification.
The Environmental Professional in Training- Greenhouse Gas designation, EPt(GHG) is available to professionals with less than five years of experience who:
- Have completed post-secondary education and specific GHG training
- Are working, or would like to work in the field of GHG reporting
Both the EP(GHG) and EPt(GHG) titles are available to professionals globally and are relevant to those working in a range of GHG management contexts, from Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects to corporate carbon footprints. The certification is aligned with the international standards in this field (e.g., WRI/WBCSD GHG Protocol standards, ISO 14064 parts 1, 2, and 3, ISO 14065, ISO 14066) and is accredited to ISO 17024 – the international standard for personnel certification bodies.
